The travelling exhibition Van Gogh Alive has settled in Istanbul a couple of weeks ago and is on show in Karaköy‘s Antrepo 3. The major installation is displaying over 3’000 images of the Dutch artist’s portfolio – in a gigantic scale. The pictures are projected on huge screens on the walls, the floor and the ceilings and are accompanied by classical music pieces by Saint-Saëns, and Handel among others.
With a focus on the work he produced in his last years – between 1880-1890, the exhibition will take you closer than you could ever have imagined and will definitely make you change the way you look at the artist’s masterpieces. You will be taken to Arles and St-Rémi, where his inspiration was the most prolific and many of his paintings were conceived. A real immersion into his world.
