New-Zealand’s biggest export, on a tight photo-finish with Flight Of The Conchords and animal by products, are hitting Berlin again on their Blackbird tour.

Fat Freddy’s Drop are a 7 piece band who’ve been tearing up stages worldwide for more than 10 years with their patented laid back soul filled dub. Their live performances are stunning and often see the Wellington band dub out marathon version of their songs, as seen on their first album Live At The Matterhorn which clocks in at an epic 70 minutes for just 4 tracks.

The band gained major international recognition with the release of their debut full length album Based On A True Story in 2005, which included the hits Cay’s Crays, Roadie, Flashback and Ernie and its instantly recognizable piano intro.

Their latest album Blackbird hit the shelves in 2013 and is a direct continuation of their dubbed-out soul explorations with heavy nods towards electronic music. On a remix note, we highly advise checking-out Theo Parrish’s remix of Mother Mother and Invoker’s remix of Silver and Gold.

Fat Freddy’s will be playing Columbiahalle on 16th of October and we have 2 tickets to give away for the event courtesy of Loft Concerts. To win the tickets just leave us a comment and for more information and to buy tickets head HERE.
