Still hot off the tracks of 2016, a year full of happenings for the entire music sphere, we hit up Berliner transplant The Drifter to pick his brain and pick some of his favorites from the past year.
LSD: How would you sum up your 2016 journey in one phrase ?
TD: A great buzz!
LSD: Would you be so kind as to tell us:
5 Tracks/releases that you consider to be (among) the best of 2016
Red Axes – loads of their tracks!
Roman Fluegel – All the right noises
LSD: 4 artists you either enjoy playing/listening to ?
LSD: 3 labels you keep rinsing and you expect will stay fit in the new year as well
LSD: 2 pieces of gear you couldn’t do without?
TD: My ears and my laptop!
Ableton Live and the Bose noise cancelling headphones are a great invention.
LSD: 1 city/gig where you felt your set resonated most with the crowd
TD: A festival in Georgia called Gem Fest. A great gig!
LSD: 1 trend you see rising in 2017?
TD: Shamanic house unfortunately.
LSD: Do you have any upcoming releases/special performances planned that you can share with us ?
TD: Lots of new music coming! An edit for the Equation edit series, a track on the 10 year anniversary Permanent Vacation compilation and an EP on Maeve at some stage too. Lots of gigs that I’m excited about too. Looking forward to the year ahead!
