It’s been one year since the well known industrial venue of Stattbad closed down, much to a lot of dancers’ collective distress. The former state swimming pool compound has been witness to endless smashing house and techno parties throughout the years. Who’s ever had the chance to dance on a shifted angle floor or in the primordial “boiler room” will tell you there’s nothing like it. Much more than the location though, Stattbad is a state of mind, a mood, a collective of people syncing their rhythms in unison dance. Which is exactly why you’re invited to an equally intriguing and history-ridden venue to celebrate the good times that have been, but also the ones to come.
Funkhaus will play host to “A Year Away From Home”, a weekender where the Stattnacht crew have put together a line-up to match the occasion. The ex GDR radio broadcast headquarters, one of the most impressive building complexes in Berlin nowadays accommodates some of the world’s most breathtaking studios and performance areas. On Friday Keinemusik will bring a superb soundsystem fueled by the entire crew: &ME, Adam Port, Rampa, David Mayer and Reznik will take the stage.
On Saturday it’s time to celebrate in sheer Stattbad style with some of the artists that called the place a home. Full line-up below.
