Adopted Berliner Marquis Hawkes is a big favourite down our ways. Establishing his name via supreme Glasgow imprint Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, the rather elusive Marquis has gone on to drops EPs on the likes of Clone, Crème Organizaion as well as Aus and has recently found a home on Fabric sublabel Houndstooth. Sugary r&b samples lock groove with ghettoized drum workouts on his tracks and his mixes isplay a hard to match grasp of “classic” house while remaining on point and fun to listen to.
Ben Westbeech aka Breach‘s output reaches back to 2007 and a debut EP on Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings. His profile truly exploded less than three years ago with the release of the humongously popular Jack, a strong contender to biggest track of 2013. His recent releases have seen him appear on Aus as well as his own Naked Naked imprint.
Asa 808, the force behind TOYS, had his biggest year to date in 2015 with the release of his EP Ignorance on George FitzGerald’s Man Make Music. Expect a damaging live set that draws from the moodier flanks of house with a strong dusting of bass.
