It’s been interesting watching the rise of Julio Bashmore from one of Fact’s producer to look out for to the household UK house name that he’s now become.
From early releases Battle For Middle You and Everyone Needs A Theme Tune to his signing to Dirtybird up until the release of the massively anthemic Au Seve, and even stretching towards his couple of rather controversial 2013 releases Duccy and Peppermint, the south-Bristol producer has made a lasting impact on the scene, perhaps even personifying the interesting couple of years that happened when the general focus shifted from dubstep to house and techno.
His latest release as Velour (with fellow Bristolian producer Hyetal) as well as recent solo single Rhythm Of Auld are beautiful pieces of work and shed a light both on his love for old-school sounds as well as his ability to uproot his references and transfer them onto a modern canvas.
Julio Bashmore is playing Gretchen on Friday 16th of January and we have 2×2 tickets to give away for the night. To get involved simply leave us a comment.
