Aptly gracing Salon Zur Wilden Renate‘s bass-loving floor Grüner Raum on Friday April 13th, 2018 is Mike Dunn, a legitimate House legend, who famously was one of the artists who laid the foundation for Chicago House in the late 80s. Although best known for his hit “So let it be Houze” which back then he even used to play on live equipment, Mike manages to retain the essence of this sound and transport it into the presence on his most recent album “My House From All Angles”.
In the Schwarzer Raum plays Johanna Knutsson, undoubtedly one of Sweden’s finest artists and founder of Zodiac 44 vinyl label. Johanna is celebrated amongst others for her set at Nachtdigital Festival, where she performed her elegantly balanced selection of techno. The Swede takes over from Globus resident Egyptian-Polish DJ Magda El Bayoumi who has graced our techno decks a few times by now.
On the other side of the House spectrum, the particularly beardy Canadian Dane McDonald opens up the Roter Raum with his considerable selection of disco, edits and related material, a sound he is much acclaimed for. Closing the night is the stormy heartthrob DJ Mutlu from the Kater Blau bringing their brand of vibey house to Tante Renate.
