This Thursday, sun is out and pau_se invites you to kick off the celebrations early on. Starting with 2 pm, both indoor and outdoor stages will be graced with a hefty line-up to get you dancing until late in the day.
The Berlin based pau_se define the concept behind their events as a general openness to different types of music, disregarding usual genre borders and with a focus on exciting music. Their line-ups are carefully curated in order to complete an environment where guests can enjoy themselves without being constrained by time or place.
For this episode, the lineup consists of artists from Berlin and beyond, starting off with British DJ and producer Paul Woolford. Some of you might know his name through the 2005/6 slow-burning hit “Erotic Discourse“, released on 2020 Vision, the Leeds label with which he made his name initially. Its whopping success, materializing in sales of over 15,000 units proved he has the ability to create a genre-defining sound, capturing the imagination of DJs across the board from Ivan Smagghe to Ricardo Villalobos, The Chemical Brothers, Richie Hawtin and DJ Hell to Francois Kevorkian, Laurent Garnier, Trevor Jackson to Erol Alkan. Another sonic highlight that you’ll surely be able to recognize him by is his 2013 single on Scuba’s Hotflush label, which despite its anthemical soundprint, ironically is named “Untitled”.
The artist has since kept a busy tour schedule and recently returned to Hotflush with the “Mother & Child” EP. Press-wise, he’s apepared on the cover of DJ Mag and IDJ including a photo shoot from Tate Modern’s Doris Salcedo installation “Shibboleth” . With each release Woolford is showing a level of artistry that is clearly on an ascending plane, and his live sets are filled with flair and pizzaz.
Moving on to Jasper James, a leading tastemaker in Glasgow’s vibrant house scene. The past years have seen him breaking away from his peers to become more than just a one-to-watch but a respected touring DJ in his own right. A DJ and producer with talent that stretches beyond his years, he’s crafted his own blend of house and techno and honed his craft, playing respected clubs like The Warehouse Project, Smartbar, Lux, Bobbeaman and Sub Club. 2016 saw his busiest summer in Ibiza with Circoloco, Paradise and Zoo Project.
We have 2×2 guestlist spots to give away for this daytime indoor-outdoor extravaganza. To get involved, simply leave a comment and tag a friend you’d like to bring with you Thursday to IPSE.
