With more than a quarter century of experience under their belt, British heavyweights Ninja Tune are one of the quintessential labels of the moment. Starting off as a small indie label, they’ve been steadily doling out throngs of impactful releases throughout the years, putting forth game changing artists and releases. This Saturday, they’re bringing out two of their main prodigies for a special night at Chalet.
First one up is New York based imprint mainstay FaltyDL, whose influences range from hip hop & downtempo touching on dubstep & garage elements while also catering to house & rave aficionados. Drew Cyrus Lustman IRL also operates his own label Blueberry Recordings as of 2013. The Berliner blowout comes at a perfect time, as he’s recently revealed new material on said label.
FaltyDL will be joined by Illum Sphere, British restless DJ and adventurous producer. A key player in the Manchester scene as club owner as well as illustrious DJ, he’s played parties everywhere from Low End Theory in LA to Sydney, Australia. He came into the spotlight when he remixed Radiohead for XL Recordings, who then invited Illum to appear on the seminal King of Limbs remixed edition of Boiler Room, alongside Caribou, Jamie XX and Lone.
Local scene will be present in the shape and form of Kompakt’s Flexonaut, Berlin based newcomer and OYE Records’ own vinyl enthusiast Melis. There’s also a tinge of warm vibes coming from Mar-C, Mexican selector who honed her skill in Playa del Carmen’s early days. Le Bain & Outpus resident Dave P will join in as well to drop some hyper rad tunes.
We have 2×2 guestlist to give away for the event, to get involved leave a comment with your fav track from one of the artists. Get in the mood by listening to this Dekmantel mix by Illum Sphere and don’t forget to attend the RA and facebook events for more info.
