Obsessed with vinyls from a young age, their love for the acoustic arts led Cnyce and Elyte on a long journey filled with adventures until coming into their own. Now they’re known as Soul Clap and boast a hefty catalog of releases, a long list of live performances and head the infamous Soul Clap Records. They are also part of the cool gang of like-minded artists Crew Love, alongside Wolf + Lamb, Nick Monaco and others.
After revealing their upcoming album a while ago, the duo have embarked on a worldwide album tour these days, gracing audiences from several continents with a special preview listening party.
To give you an impression of what’s to come, check out Numb, a sneak peak into our their-titled sophomore LP. Originally written at George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic‘s What? Studios in Tallahassee, Florida, Numb rides the line between underground pop and modern R&B. Young vocalist and Tallahassee native Ebony Houston shines her light on this song with a sound that is as powerful and knowledgeable as it is pure and innocent.
For the full album experience, you’re invited this Thursday at Prince Charles where you’ll be able to get a glimpse into the Soul Clap universe with choice cuts by the duo themselves taking you through Soul, Funk, House and Disco. You can enjoy this extended journey with a warmup by Dédé.
We’re giving away 2×2 guestlist spots for the night so for a chance to be there with a friend, leave a comment with your favourite Soul Clap track or remix ever and join the event here. We’ll be picking out the winners early on Thursday, so watch this space!
