Festivals: DGTL Amsterdam 2016 – Lineup Announcement

dgtl.main

By now it’s no surprise that Amsterdam is one of the most sustainable cities in the world, so having a festival like DGTL kick-off the festival season in Netherlands it’s almost like a must. When you think about DGTL, you should have in mind something more than just a place where people meet to drink and dance. It’s a platform where music intertwines with art and sustainability. And thanks to this interdisciplinary approach, DGTL is a great opportunity to discover new artists and to immerse oneself into an experience that will definitely take you out of your comfort zone, and send you off to where the magic happens.

DGTL 2016 is going to take place during the Easter weekend, from Friday, March 25th until Sunday, March 27th, at the NDSM Docklands in Amsterdam, a quite raw, industrial setting that’s more than suited for the amount of house and techno the audience will have the chance to enjoy. This time, DGTL is bringing us no less than 70 artists, from the most promising of upcoming talent to acclaimed, long-time underground trailblazers.

• DGTL Art/Revolution •

DGTL ART started because of the need to pay more attention to the look and feel, decoration/stage designs and innovative projects of DGTL.

Sustainability is the main focus for DGTL Revolution. The foundation originated because of DGTL’s future perspective to create a more sustainable festival.

Besides music, the festival will also focus on these 2 pillars, revolution and art, in order to create a 100% green, zero-footprint festival with a cultural dimension focusing on industrial, dynamic art installations. DGTL announced that the main attraction this year is the Transmission Tower, a 25-meter high installation, which will be at the center of the terrain. The Tower is connected to three smaller towers, all inter-communicating with each other via Morse code. At night, the Tower will transform into a beaming installation with smoke, LEDs, strobes, and laser beams.

If you’re still not convinced, have a look at LOOP, the DGTL Amsterdam 2015 aftermovie.
