We are back in Berlin, still exhausted from the Sonar Weekend in Barcelona with full with nice memories.
Barcelona is a very beautiful city, but this time there was no time for sightseeing, as there were too many good parties going on. Not only Sonar, but also loads of Off Sonar events. It was too hard to make a choice and the distance, the heat and the crowded streets and busy roads didn’t exactly help. Once you are there, the only thing you can do is accept the fact that you cannot go everywhere, relax and have fun without thinking too much!
One of the highlights of our visit was our gig at the PullProxy Showcase at the legendary Moog at the heart of the city. The line up included Spanish techno hero Oscar Mulero, upcoming Swedish producer, dj and label manager (We are) Patrik Skoog (aka Agaric), who is based in Berlin, one of Detroit‘s best techno djs and producers Dj Skurge, and Modularz‘ Developer straight from LA on the Moog Floor. The motto: techno unites!
On the villarosa floor Asaf Samuel from Tel Aviv, Hecht&Zander from Switzerland and ourselves played the coolest deep house and disco tunes. The club was already packed at 1am and the queue went on and on. The crowd was amazing, friendly, cool people dancing non stop. Around 6 when the club had to shut down, everyone left with a smile on their faces. We have some photos for you to check out the vibes! You can check out the entire photostream on our webpage and on our facebook page and go ahead: Tag yourselves and your friends!
Day 2 was amazing as well, East Ender beach party with Marco Faraone, My Favorite Robot with Timo Maas, Sid leRock, It’s A fine line (Tim Paris & Ivan Smagghe)and then the Kompact Loves Comeme party at Nitsa Club (Sala Apolo) with Mathias Aguayo, Kölsch, Barnt, Alejandro Paz, Michael Mayer!
Saturday was our turn to play some summer tunes at the cool Beach Bar or as the Spanish would say chiringuito La Chiquita between Barcelona and Sitges along with Galaxy.P from London. Then it was about time we went to the actual Sonar by Night and saw among others Phon.O, Bambounou, Justice, Maceo Plex, Seth Troxler, George Fitzerland, Luciano, Busy P and Laurent Garnier, who closed Sonar 2013 with Prodigy’s “Out Of Space” and made everyone go crazy!
Suddenly it was Sunday and the long weekend closed up with the Kompakt // Electronic Beats party at Playa de los Besos and then off to the airport to catch our flight. Dead, but happy!
