The Wye Oak was one of the most famous trees in the world, the state tree of Maryland, and the largest white oak tree in the United States. A big, sad, but somehow magical tree. So unique, that they had to clone it. This is what Wye Oak’s sound is like. Songs, that “are, as a whole, about aloneness (the positive kind), loneliness (the horrible kind), moving on, and letting go (of people, places, and things),” as lyricist/guitarist Jenn Wasner reveals. They are now back with their third album “Civilian” and you can download the track after which the album was named for free!
