Mutant, the club-night that brings together the sounds of the diasporas and pushes the current state of mutating and migrating rhythms while providing a thought out anthropological and historical backdrop is back to shake the foundations of Urban Spree.
Preceding the musical action will be a panel moderated by DJ Zhao, during which musical anthropologist Stef Meaow, will talk about the booty jiggling Kuduro riddims of Angola and Portugal while Roy Rocky AKA Tropical Camel will be shedding his light on various lineages of middle eastern music and cultures.
On the musical side, Buenos Aires native Inti Che will slowly be bringing the dancefloor into motion with his fusion of electronic and traditional sounds.
Veteran of the Jerusalem underground, MC and producer Tropical Kamel will be dropping some serious fusion of Gnawa and deep tribal beats.
Fusion festival favourites Ngoma Sound will be teaming up with the man who can be credited for one of the strangest (and most beatless) Boiler Room performance, Pharoah Chromium, for a psychedelic and ritualistic live performance, and DJ Zhao will be squeezing out the last drops of sweat from the dancers mangled bodies with his usual punishing selection, ranging from Cumbia to Kuduro and mutated House.
