Introducing: From Berlin to LA (and back)

berlinla_logo_A4Some projects feel more personal than others and take a bit of time to get where we want them to be… From Berlin to LA is something I have smelled – so to speak – and been talking about for a while, and I started here on Local Suicide blog already three years ago with a series of short interviews with LA-born Berlin-adopted Simonne Jones (who’s part of the festival), LA DJs Raíz, LA noise band Health among a few others, and later some longer interviews including one with Digitalism during their LA residency.
It is finally happening on February 5th and 6th: a series of concerts, club parties, panels and workshops showcasing this growing bond between the musicians, technologists and industry workers of these two cities. Some of the pre-shows take place in Berlin, but the meatiest part will be in LA at the Goethe-Institut, The Standard Hollywood, the Ace Hotel and Bold Space, in partnership with the venues, wireless multi-room audio company Raumfeld, Native Instruments, music network, Thump, Yowsah, XLR8R, Fourculture, Amoeba, Discogs, Grimy, FoF, and of course the artists.

Check out the full program and sign up as everything is free entry with RSVP, and some programs are available for kids and teens:
The lineup runs over the two afternoons and nights with DJs, producers and live musicians including Zernell & Son, Anna Cavazos, Katie Otro, Lucky Paul & Friends, 19th Moon, Mor Elian, Carlos Oblivion & Black Replica, Robot Koch (Monkeytown), Perera Elsewhere, Dersu, Masha and Kim Anh.

Here is a pre-taste mixed by Dersu to chew on before the event… and see you all in LAlaland!
