localsuicide[2]

DiscJoker aka Giuliano P is an upcoming DJ and producer who operates from Italy. He runs a record label called REK Records and he recently released a raw 5 tracker EP titled Frames II which got him under our radar. We asked DiscoJoker to sit with us for a quick chat and record a mix for Local Suicide which you can stream below.

Local Suicide: Hi DiscJoker, What have you been up to recently?

DiscJoker: Recently I’ve been promoting my last release, Frames II EP, and DJing in many parties in Italy, especially in Rome. I’m also busy with REK Records, the label I run. We’re gonna put out soon the 13th release in our very first year running the label, but now I mainly try to enjoy summer and holidays.

LSD: How and where was the mix recorded?

DJ: It was made with some stems, wav files, and vinyls. It was recorded in REK Records studio.

LSD: What can you tell us about the mix? Anything specific you tried to achieve with this one?

DJ: Mostly some of my favourite tracks that make people dance like hell on the dancefloor. The mood and selection span around techno and tech-house and they all share this context of a cool summery night in a club. In the tracklist there’s also “Spring”, the opening track from my latest EP

LSD: What can we expect from DiscJoker over the next few months?

DJ: In September we’re gonna relaunch our event series Across The Beat and start a new one called Music Concept – Both dedicated to club culture with a focus on techno and tech house. In terms of productions my next EP Frames III is in mastering stages. As for REK Records me and my business partner Rosa are working hard on our first label compilation. All of our roster artists will contribute tracks.
