Seattle-born and Berlin based Camea just dropped another dark banger EP called  ‘The Hallway’ via Ellen Allien‘s label BPitch Control on Monday after a busy spring with the launch of her Neverwhere Radio show, new tracks on Get Physical and mixing their latest Full Body Workout compilation.

Tonight Camea‘s will be performing at London’s Beatport Live Sessions along Locked Groove and South London Ordnance. You will be able to watch the session live HERE, after reading our little FAZE TIME with her below.

My name is Camea. I was born in Seattle, Washington, USA, grew up in Seattle and also lived in Brooklyn after college. When I was a child my idol was Luke Skywalker, because he was just so cool. When  I was five, I started listening to classical music with my Father. It was then when I realised that I loved dark, melodic music and decided to take piano lessons when I was eight years old. Since then I have always had a life revolving around music.

One of my best gigs I played was last weekend, at Cityfox in Brooklyn with Dixon and Ame. It was so much fun because the venue, sound, crowd and vibe were perfect.

One of the best gigs I have been to was Richie Hawtin in 2004 at a small club called Filter 14 in New York. I loved the set he played, it was truly unlike anything I had heard before.

Now I live in Berlin with my boyfriend and kitten. In my house you can find lots of vinyl, shoes and chocolate, and my refrigerator is usually full with fresh fruit, vegetables and good wine. I enjoy reading books and working in my studio a lot. I can spend hours sitting on my terrace with my boyfriend and cat, listening to the sounds of Berlin. One of my favorite places to visit is Mexico, because it has endless small, beautiful beach towns to discover.

On weekdays I like to spend time at home and in my studio, and on weekends I usually tour around the world.

My favorite song at the moment is DJ Koze – XTC. A film I watched lately and really liked was Ex Machina. The last series I watched and loved was Daredevil.

I am very inspired by beautiful things in nature. My dream is to always be doing something creative and that I love. My worst nightmare is to feel uninspired.

I love people who believe in freedom and peace and hate to see so much unnecessary violence happening around the world.

I am addicted to shoes and music, I just cannot stop working and dreaming.

Local Suicide reminds me of a good poem.

Tomorrow I will wake up and face the new day. Next month I will be going to Burning Man. Next year I hope to make a lot of new music. In 10 years I hope that I will still be doing what I love.

If I wasn’t a DJ, I would be a forensic scientist. I love mysteries.

If my life was a Hollywood movie, I would play the FBI agent and would have the main role, because it would be awesome.

If I was a car, I would be a vintage Rolls Royce. If I was an animal, I would be a Sloth. If I was a drug I would be a hallucinogen. If I was an invention, I would be the theremin. If I was an object, I would be an obelisk. If I could date myself, I wouldn’t. That’s weird.

I would like to collaborate with Cliff Martinez or Trent Reznor on a film score.

If I had only one wish, it would be for all living things to be happy and free.

I would never wingsuit base jump, because that’s just crazy.

My word of advice to the reader would be: don’t overthink it, life moves fast.
