LSD FAZE TIME: Gameboyz

gameboyzbannerInfluenced by the 80’s, electro, techno, nu disco, rock, house, hip hop and even some traditional spanish music, the spanish producers Gameboyz are one of the uprising disco acts in 2013! In 2013 the Badajoz-based trio was founded by Luis Vallespín (The Modernphase), Manuel Maidero (Da’ Wëll) and Carlos Franco (Xar Lee). Since then the guys have not only released on tastemaker labels like Electrique (Bufi, Andre VII, Juan Soto) or Biologic (Morgan Hammer, DC Salas, Zombies In Miami) but also founded their own label called Melómana Records of which you’re gonna hear soon! We asked the guys to answer our LSD FAZE TIME which you’ll find below (+ streams of their latest releases). Enjoy!

PAST

Our names are Manuel Lesmes, Manuel Franco & Luis Vallespin but you might know us as Da Well, Xar Lee & The Modernphase or Gameboyz.

We were born in Badajoz, Spain and grew up in Badajoz.

In our childhood our idols were Afrika Bambaataa, Nirvana, Michael Jackson, Kraftwerk, Queen, Public Enemy, because they were 80´s generation.

We met in our childhood when we were 14 years old while djing our music that we bought at Ozono Records, this vinyl shop was very important for us in Badajoz. Back then we had just started mixing vinyls, listening to break beat music, drum&bass and techno music. One year ago we decided to shape the Gameboyz Band and signed with Electrique and Biologic and now we are finalizing the last remix track for Golden Bug in La Belle Records. This year we are going to launch a new Label, the name of label is Melomana Records.

One of the best gigs we played was at Le Plume Festival, Como las Grecas Anniversary and Off Sonar. It was so much fun when we played in Sevilla, was great all morning in Alameda neighborhood jajaja. One of the best gigs we have been to was New Order at Sonar Festival & Norther Lite live in Madrid. We loved afters and now too and exquisite music.

PRESENT

Now we live in Badajoz. We meet every day in Gameboyz home studios and play, record, produce and finalize our tracks.

We enjoy djing music and producing canalla music and dirty lyrics a lot. We can spend hours making music, smoking, listening to music and discuss all day. One of our favorite places to visit is Barcelona, because it has more different styles of great music.

On weekdays we work on new tracks, remixes, mixes or masters and on weekends we usually play our gigs and always we go to the after, we love after and good drinks.

Our favorite songs at the moment are “The mexican” by Babe Ruth,  Queen’s “Invisible Man” and LCD Soundsystem’s  “You want a hit”.

Some films we watched lately and liked was Close Encounters of the Third Kind & Flight Club.
We are very inspired by Comeme records, Kompakt Records, Slow techno like Correspondant, Relish, Clouded Vision, Meant etc etc.

Our dream is to have gigs around the world.
Our worst nightmare is the situation of spain, political crisis and economy, unemployment etc.
We love after hour party and hate to arrive late to our gigs.
We are addicted to facebook and mark ajajajaj mark zuckerberg jajaja and soundcloud and similar social media.
We just cannot stop when it’s time to finish to play at a  good after or a good gig.
We get totally fucked up, when we don’t have any gigs.

FUTURE

Tomorrow we don’t know what we will do ajajaj.
Next month we play in Spain, France and hopefully in Germany.
Next year we ...dont know, we don’t haven any plans yet.
In 10 years we hope to be able to continue making eletronic music and continue in this scene.

HYPOTHESES

If we weren’t gameboyz, we would be bull fighters.
If we were a car, we would be a ferrari.
If we were an animal, we would be a pig.
If we were a drug ,we would be LSD.
If we were an invention, we would be chupa chups.
If we were an object, we would be a lighter.
If we could play with anyone it would be Andrew Weatherall.
We would like to collaborate with Chimo Bayo.
If we had only one wish, it would be to be healthy lifelong.

ADVICE

Our word of advice to the reader would be to Carne de Puerca Gameboyz Go¡.
