LSD FAZE TIME: Joe Bellingham

Joe Bellingham is not a new face in the scene. In 2009, he joined the Shameless collective and became well known as a live act. He is one of the founding members of the fresh Shameless label and was featured on it’s first release. Find out more about this super talented young guy!

My name is Joe Bellinhgam but you might know me as Joe B. I was born in Seattle, WA and grew up in Seattle with a severe cat obsession. When I was a child my idol was the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, because he really wrecked shop in Ghostbusters. When  I was fledgling young squirrel, I started eating rare flowers to see fairies. It was then when I realised that I should stop working the family business and decided to to quit to do music full-time. Since then I have been making music for Shameless.

One of my best gigs I played was the closing party at Electric Tea Garden. It was so much fun meowing and everyone learned a lot there.

One of the best gigs I have been to was the Shameless 10 Year Anniversary. I loved watching all my friends go wild.

Now I live in the Green Lake neighborhood of Seattle with my cat Lela “Dark Matter” B. In my house you can find spliff making supplies and my refrigerator is usually full with Rainier Beer. I enjoy smoking and drinking coffee a lot. I can spend hours smoking. One of my favorite places to visit is my smoking lounge which is really just a camping chair by my fire place, because my neighbor Paul complains when I smoke elsewhere in my apartment.

On weekdays I hang out in my spaceship making necessary repairs and upgrades as technology advances and on weekends I usually find myself party, with friends and see how long I can go without turning left..

My favorite song at the moment is Chasing Shadows By Tom Demac and Will Samson. A film I watched lately and really liked was The Cat Returns Directed by Hiroyuki Morita. The last series I watched and loved was Wilfred.

I am very inspired by all sound. My dream is to play music for the world. My worst nightmare is my computer crashing during a live set. I love making field recordings and hate when the Sound Cloud app doesn’t work.

I am addicted to recording audio, at any and all moments, I just cannot stop recording people when they don’t know it’s happening. I get totally fucked up, when I nuzzle my cat’s belly. The next day I need to do it even more.

Local Suicide reminds me of a punk zine.

Tomorrow I will make some serious music. Next month I will continue to make serious jams. Next year I’ll be teaching Germans broken English, how to cook an American breakfast, and when and when not to meow at your neighbor. In 10 years I hope to run a Cat City, it would be a real challenge to learn their language and run for office in their culture. Plus it would be good for like Human Cat relations and what not.

If I wasn’t a Human, I would be a Cat. If my life was a Hollywood movie, Bill Murray would have the main role, because he really wrecked shop in Ghostbusters. If I could have sex with anyone, it would be Catwoman.

If I was a car, I would be a Cat Bus. If I was an animal, I would be a ahhh i dont know…. If I was a drug I would be used like catnip. If I was an invention, I would be feline brain wave transmitter. If I was an object, I would be a power button on a 1983 Roland Juno 106. If I could date myself, I would take me to a nice restaurant and leave early and stick myself with the bill.

If I could play with anyone it would be JimTom & JohnnyStar from Berlin. I would like to collaborate with Brian Sone of the From 0-1 label, because he is one sexy ass man. I mean seriously, he’s got moves, and if he wasn’t in a serious committed relationship. I would totally hit that..

If I had only one wish, it would be for everyone to experience the feeling of nuzzling a cat’s belly.

I would never I would never go any lower on the belly, because that’s gross..

My word of advice to the reader would be to keep your eyes open and ears to the sky for Shameless Audio is coming to a speaker near you….
