My name is Jonathan but you might know me as Jonathan Kaspar. I was born in Bonn and grew up in Bonn & Dresden. When I was a child my idol was Michael Jordan, because of his mental strength. When I was done with my medicine study, I started to have more time to do music. It was then when I realised that I wanted make music only and decided to focus on music. Since then I released my music on labels like Crosstown Rebels, Objektivity, Pets Recordings and KX/Kompakt. One of my best gigs I played was 4GB Festival in Tiflis. It was so much fun as the Georgian people are really into music and the location is an old satellite fabric, its easily the best location for a festival i have seen so far.
Now I live in Cologne with my best friend. In my house you can find music, a lot of shoes and plants and my refrigerator is usually full with fruits & vegetables. I enjoy good food and cooking by myself a lot. I can spend hours listening to music and finding new samples. One of my favorite places to visit is my parents place, because they live on an old farm directly in the nature, i love the relaxed vibe there. On weekdays I go to the studio, try to do sports and meet with friends and on weekends I usually spent most of the time on the road and in clubs. My favorite song at the moment is Monumental Men – Enemy (Deetron Remix). The last series I watched and loved was Fargo. I am very inspired by people who follow their dreams. My dream is to live the life I am choosing. My worst nightmare is that a member of my family or friends get seriously ill. I love rain while going to bed and hate waiting. I am addicted to food. I get totally fucked up, when I have to be ineffective. The next day I need to be effective. Local Suicide reminds me of news, news, news!
Tomorrow I travel to Berlin. Next month I‘m looking forward to a remix of mine for Paris Green will be released via Get Physical. In 10 years I hope I am still doing what i love.
If I wasn’t a DJ, I would be a doctor. I would like to collaborate with talented singers with special voices. I would never do something to create bad Karma, because I fear Karma.
My word of advice to the reader would be to do what you want to do for living.
