LSD FAZE TIME: Nakadia

Born & raised in a little town somewhere in Thailand Seephrai Mungphanklan, better known as Nakadia made her way up to the top of today‘s tech-house scene. In between jetting to DJ gigs all over the world and producing with the likes of George Morel she found the time to answer our little FAZE time below.

PAST

My name is Seephrai Mungphanklang but you might know me as Nakadia. I was born in Khonburi, Thailand and grew up in this very poor farm village. When I was a child my idol was my mother, because she was working so hard and took care of the family. When  I was 15, I started working in factories to make a living. It was then when I realised that I wanted more in life and decided to search for the real me. At the age of 22 I knew that I was born to be a DJ and started playing vinyl. Since then I have the most amazing life touring around the world.

One of my best gigs I played was the last Berlin loveparade in 2006. It was so much fun playing on a floating stage in between 1,5 million people and being featured live on German TV.

One of the best gigs I have been to was Time Warp Germany 2015. I loved that a big festival with so many floors only had amazing artists and cool music.

PRESENT

Now I live in Berlin with hardly any time to enjoy Berlin nightlife. In my house you can find a little home studio and my refrigerator is usually full with self mixed smoothies. I enjoy travelling and seeing all corners of the world a lot. I can spend hours on beatport, looking for that one special tune. One of my favorite places to visit is reunion island, because I think it’s the most beautiful place in the world.

On weekdays I work on new productions, clean my clothes and get ready for the next weekend and on weekends I usually travel and perform at least twice.

My favorite song at the moment is “Karma” by Abby. A film I watched lately and really liked was Gravity. The last series I watched and loved was Better Call Saul.

I am very inspired by Prince. My dream is to become like Papa Sven and still be fit to rock the world when I am 50. My worst nightmare is  to loose my hearing.

I love techno and hate EDM.

I am addicted to Thai Food, I just cannot stop drinking when the night is great.

I get totally fucked up, when I forget to drink water in between the alcohol. The next day I need to get up early to catch my flight.

Local Suicide reminds me of a great club around the corner: Suicide Circus.

FUTURE

Tomorrow I go to the studio and finish my next EP. Next month I will be flying nearly every day. Next year I will be even busier. In 10 years I hope to still have enough power to keep touring.

HYPOTHESES

If I wasn’t a DJ, I would be a chef.

If my life was a Hollywood movie,  Halle Berry would have the main role, because she would make the best Nakadia. If I could have sex with anyone, it would be the one that will makes me feel good.

If I was a car, I would be a mini. If I was an animal, I would be a bird (formally giraffe, but changed my mind to bird recently). If I was a drug I would be adrenalin. If I was an invention, I would be light. If I was an object, I would be a diamond. If I could date myself, I would laugh a lot.

If I could play with anyone it would be Sven Väth, but because I did already so Maceo Plex is next on the wish list. I would like to collaborate with Agents of time.

If I had only one wish, it would be performing at Time Warp.

I would never buy facebook fans, because only real fans are responsible for a full tour schedule.

ADVICE

My word of advice to the reader would be to never give up.

Watch my DJ Fairytale: “Light the way” … the Nakadia storyA lot has happened since this movie was recorded more than 2 years ago. I speak better english now and I am jetting from one amazing gig to the next. I reached all my goals already but much more is happening now. Its about time to show you how it all started….This is the first version of “Light the way”. The version that went to cinemas last year was longer and more detailed. But you get the idea ;-)
