LSD FAZE TIME: Nouvelle Phénomène

It’s not without some hidden joy, that I discovered  and played on my sets the band Nouvelle Phenomene, timeless music with real soul of the 80’s like Visage, Softcell or Ultravox sometimes with the spirit of Chromatics. Syncopated rhythms and keyboards that are perfectly mastered. They perform a French Berliner Pop and New Wave that Frenchs or Germans themselves have not come to make.

Dziba Zsolt and Santa Angela are from Budapest, they plays a mix of genres, combining electronic music with a captivating and dark voice. The style found throughout their songs makes us take a step back toward to the dancefloor of the 80’s at the Blitz Club in Berlin.

So here is in an interactive interview to discover more about them:

My name is Angela, I was born in Debrecen, HU and grew up in Budapest, HU.
When I was a kiddo my idol was Tina Turner, because I was amazed by especially Private Dancer and What’s Love Got To Do With It. :)
I used to attend music school years back then but for somewhat reason I quit doing it. But I decided that I will continue playing music or singing in the future by any means.

Our synth-pop, new romantic band, Nouvelle Phénomène just formed this spring, so my favourite gig I played was the first (and at this moment only) one.
It was so good to be the warm-up act of Martial Canterel and singing in front of a quite huge audience (including my close friends) what we did not expect at all and.

One of the best gigs I have been to was Nils Frahm. I really have no clue how big his soul can be.

Now I live in Budapest with my sister. In my house you can find loads of vintage stuff and my refrigerator is usually full with grandma’s holy marmalades.
I enjoy chitchat over some drinks a lot. I can spend hours talking on the phone.
One of my favorite places to visit is Berlin, because of its so laidback atmosphere.

On weekdays I do work and on weekends I let my hair down.

My favorite song at the moment is Ceephax Acid Crew – Capsule In Space.
A film I watched lately and really liked was “Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex” (*But Were Afraid To Ask).
The last series I watched (and still watching) and loved was American Horror Story.
I am very inspired by my friends.
I love dancing like hell at my best friend’s flat especially when he’s the DJ.
I hate freezing.
I am addicted to high heels, I just cannot stop getting precious ones.

Local Suicide reminds me of the way how I love to party hard.

Tomorrow finally I will have time to sleep and then go to rehearsal.
Next month = November = more furcoat.
Next year I hope it will be even better than this one.
In 10 years I hope I will have a pretty OK life.

If I wasn’t me, I would rather be a disco queen in NYC, in the late 70s.
If my life was a Hollywood movie, I would have the main role in Working Girl J.
If I could have sex with anyone, it would be Adam Horovitz.
If I was a car, I would be a BMW 3 from the 70s (at least that is my dream car).
If I was an animal, I would be a dog.
If I was a drug I would be most definitely a good joint.
If I was a book, I would be Annie Ernaux’s Passion Simple.
If I was an object, I would be a nail file.
If I could date myself, I would take myself to an unkown bar where only local people meet up.
If I could play with or collaborate with anyone at this moment it would be definitely Ruth from Chromatics.
If I had only one wish, it would be that my dad was still here for me.
I would never imprecate curse on anybody.

My word of advice to the reader would be to try to find always something in your life for what you can be grateful even if you are really down.
