Scratch Massive never do what is expected of them, and nobody’s complaining! It was already the case in 2003 with “Enemy & Lovers”, the LP that marked their birth and showcased electric guitars as well as a decidedly rock style at a time when electronic music was all the rage. In 2007, once the return of rock was acknowledged by all, the duo ventured off towards new horizons with “Time”, a fearless free dive into ten years of techno fascination !
A year ago, Maud Geffray and Sebastien Chenut or the French duo Scratch Massive, released their third studio album, “Nuits de mes Rêves” a fantasy trip in homage to the heyday of new wave ’80s, reinterpreted in the light 20 years of techno. Diving and elegant melancholy which invited the young prodigy French Koudlam, the prodigious Chloe, as the eternal star in Jimmy Somerville falsetto on “Take Me There” spinning chills. Disk ahead of his time that is now famous and draws blithely in the 80’s as the golden age of electronic composition.
We had a chance to catch them to chat about Life Past Present and Future and their projects. Read the report here :
My name is Scratch Massive. I was born in 2002 and grew up in Paris. When I was a child my idol was Jason Donovan, because he was a big lover. When I was tall enough, I started djing at the Pulp in Paris.
It was then when I realised that those fucking basses and people dancing were giving me this sensation of power and energy and I decided to play as dj more and more and to do my own stuff in electronic music.
Since then I realised my first album in 2003.
One of my best gigs I played was in Lithuanie, Vilnius. It was so much fun and this energy in this old big building, people i met there, something magic.
Now I live in Paris in my new flat in the center of Paris. In my house you can find a lot of clothes (too much clothes i know it) and vinyls and you can see the top of the Eiffel tower from the window.
My refrigerator is easily full with because it is only a bar fridge.
I enjoy my new flat (life) and i know how lucky i am to feel free and do my own stuff.
I can spend hours drinking wine, watching movies or having sex.
One of my favorite places to visit is Sao Paulo, because this is so big, I can never forget the first travel I made there, and feel so excited each time I go back there.
On weekdays I work then I go out and on weekends I usually work when i go out, but i love staying at home too.
My favorite song at the moment is John Maus “Hey Moon”.
A film I watched lately and really liked was Little Odessa, the first movie of James Gray, just deep and simply beautiful, I think I felt in love with the young actor Edward Furlong.
The last series I watched and loved was Shameless and Breaking Bad.
I am very inspired by movies in general.
I love when the sun is falling and hate having nightmares.
I am addicted to all is good in the moment but i learn discipline, I just cannot stop wine.
I get totally fucked up, when I mix different things, as everybody.
The next day I need to not move at all and eat everything I have in my minifridge.
Local Suicide reminds me of F U T U R E .
Tomorrow I work on new tracks.
Next month I travel as far as I can.
Next year I hope to be more responsible.
In 10 years I never thought to this yet.
If I wasn’t a musician, I would be a dancer. If my life was a Hollywood movie, I would have the main role, because I’m French. If I could have sex with anyone it would be Jessica Alba.
If I was a car, I would be a jaguar.
If I was an animal, I would be a cat.
If I was a drug I would be LSD.
If I was an invention, I would be the wheel.
f I was an object, I would be a television.
If I could date myself, I would be confused.
If I could play with anyone it would be Gary Numan.
I would like to collaborate with Gaspar Noe.
If I had only one wish, it would be I can’t tell you because it won’t come true.
My word of advice to the reader would be to never take my advice.

On stage from Paris to Moscow via Madrid, Scratch Massive have found the simple answer to this question legitimate remembering that “101” is the fabulous Depeche Mode live part of their discs bedside.
The duo is well harnessed to offer a complete redesign of the finest moments of Night Dream.
