Brazilian but Barcelona bound Terr has been one of favorite newcomers, as her tracks have rarely been missing from our sets in the past year or so. She has already released gems on esteemed labels such as Hotflush and Clash Lion, while her latest release “Have You Ever Thought” on Permanent Vacation is no exception. Grab it here and find out more about the talented young lady below.

My name is Daniela but you might know me as Terr. I was born in in the wrong house, with the wrong ascendancy, with the wrong sign and grew up in a house of glass. When I was a child my idol was Kurt Cobain, because he made subversive acts live on Brazilian television during a concert in Rio. And then he spat on the camera. I thought that was really cool.. When I was a teenager, I started some punk rock bands at the high school, but they were really bad.. It was then when I realised that there was something going on on electronic music around 2001, more exciting, it was the new wave of Electro(clash) and decided to try to do it myself, like a real punk.. Then I started my first project, Digitaria..

One of my best gigs I played was a festival in an isolated beach in Bahia, Brazil. It was so much fun, I felt a deep connection with the crowd and the heat of Bahia made me dehydrate at the end.
One of the best gigs I have been to was Leonard Cohen’s concert in Bucharest. I loved his elegance and his strength during an impeccable 2 and a half hour concert.

Now I live in Barcelona with an anarchist and a communist. In my house you can find records, cables, synths, audio equipments and funko pops and my refrigerator is usually full with Pizza and coca cola for the boys, Tofu and sparkling water for the girl.. I enjoy to swim and to be under the water a lot. I can spend hours thinking of parallel universes of my own life. Situations that probably will never happen or an absurd hypothesis of an outcome of a present situation. Do you know what I mean? One of my favorite places to visit is my mom’s place in Brazil, because there are coconut trees and little monkeys. I miss my family a lot so its always good to be back there..

On weekdays I work in the studio. I love so much to be in my home studio making music. Also I go to the gym and to the beach in the summer and on weekends if I don’t play you will find me at my studio and going to see a concert or a dj/friend somewhere in Barcelona.

My favorite song at the moment is Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood – Summer Wine. A film I watched lately and really liked was I, Tonya. The last series I watched and loved was Black Mirror.

I am very inspired by my favourite women in music : Kate bush, Suzanne Ciani, Wendy Carlos, Debbie Harry… Just to name a few.. My dream is to adopt a child one day. My worst nightmare is already happening. Brazil is living a critical moment after the coup of 2016. There is no way back for my country and I feel very sad about it..

I love dogs and hate discrimination and bigotry.

I am addicted to answering questionnaires, I just cannot stop HAMMER TIME.

I get totally fucked up, when I see people in airports with their bags on empty spaces other people could seat.. The next day I need to drink coconut water.

Local Suicide reminds me of Alan Vega and Martin Rev.

Tomorrow I have a gig. Next month I will release an EP that I am really proud of. Next year I don’t want to think about it. In 10 years I hope this right wing neo fascist wave will have disappeared.

If I could have sex with anyone, it would be a mess. So I prefer not to..
If I was a car, I would be.. I don’t know anything about cars.. If I was an animal, I would be a dog. If I was a drug I would be clonazepam. If I was an object, I would be a glass of wine. If I could date myself, I would be very nice to me so we could both be very happy.

If I could play with anyone it would be Thom Yorke. I would like to collaborate with Thom Yorke too.

If I had only one wish, it would be world peace and understanding..

I would never stop making music, because it is a true passion.

My word of advice to the reader would be to stay away from toxic people..
