UK-producer and DJ Third Son has built an incredible following in the last 5 years. With releases on labels such as Noir, Syncopat, Stil Vor Talent, Upon You, Tretmuehle, Voltaire & Traum Music to playing banging sets between techno and break beats and running his own label Polymath this guy is keeping himself busy.

For the upcoming 5 year anniversary compilation of Alex Niggemann’s AEON which is out digitally December 7th, 2018 (order here) he delivered an acid-break-beat track called ‘Hypernormalism‘ which blends in smoothly with tracks by  TVA, Kincaid, Uriah Klapter, Omri Smadar, Radeckt among others. Find out more about Third Son in our LSD FAZE TIME interview feature below.

My name is Joseph Thomas Price but you might know me as Third Son. I was born in Cardiff and grew up in Cardiff. When I was a child my idol was Kirk Hammett, because I wanted to a be a master of the guitar. When I was 18, I started a chemistry degree. It was then when I realised that I wanted to do music and decided to produce full time. Since then I haven’t looked back. One of my best gigs I played was Rainbow Serpent, Australia. It was so much fun as the crowd were mental and I was in the highest of spirits.
One of the best gigs I have been to was James Blake at Bestival 2012. I loved James’ ability to bring a tear to my eye.

Now I live in London with my flat mate, who shall not be named. In my house you can find many different types of coffee and my refrigerator is usually full with condiments and not much else. I enjoy COFFEE and condiments a lot. I can spend hours watching Adam Curtis documentaries about current affairs. One of my favorite places to visit is Australia, because it has some of the best coffee, amongst other things.

On weekdays I produce music and on weekends I usually play music. My favorite song at the moment is First Cool Hive by Moby. A film I watched lately and really liked was Mother. The last series I watched and loved was Making a Murderer. I am very inspired by the cosmos. My dream is to write music for film. My worst nightmare is going deaf. I love sleeping and hate jet lag. I am addicted to peanut butter, I just cannot stop talking to myself. I get totally fucked up, when I forget to keep tabs on my Guinness intake. The next day I need to play Strawberry Fields festival in Australia.

Local Suicide reminds me of Dog of man.

Tomorrow I aim to play a great set. Next month I am to play another 5 great sets. Next year I‘ll be working on a new AV project with a collaborator. In 10 years I hope to own an original SSL Neve mixing console.

If I wasn’t a producer, I would be a chemist. If my life was a Hollywood movie, it would be an ironic black comedy because Bill Murray would have the main role because he’s fucking great. If I could have sex with anyone, it would be Whoopi Goldberg. If I was a car, I would be a rusty old Mustang from 1960. If I was an animal, I would be a Axalotl. If I was a drug I would be Valium. If I was an invention, I would be a Pez dispenser. If I was an object, I would be a traffic light constantly stuff on green. If I could date myself, I would lather peanut butter all over myself. If I could play with anyone it would be Amon Tobin. I would like to collaborate with Donny Osmond. If I had only one wish, it would be to live forever as a Dachshund. I would never eat low quality peanuts, because they’re extremely bad for you.

My word of advice to the reader would be to work until your fingers bleed.
