Whatever these guys do is just amazing: their own productions, remixes, dj mixes and live shows (with 2 more musicians). Their latest EP “The Hunt” on Correspondant is no exception. An impressive 3-tracker with garage influenced “The Hunt”, electroclash sounding “Some Words of Faith” and slow dark acid “I’m A Strange Machine Sometimes”, which is also included in the last banging Correspondant no 4 Compilation. Ladies and gentlemen may we present to you fabulous duo Vox Low.

Our names are Jean-Christophe Couderc and Benoit Raymond but you might know us as Vox Low. We were born in the 70’s and grew up in a post – “everything will be ok” world….In our childhood our idols were “Le club des 5” and “Pif Gadget”, because not so many choices…

We met in 2001 in Paris at one party at my place (jc). In 2002 we decided to make music together and started the project “Think Twice” with Macdara Smith…We did a couple of singles and an album on Fcommunications. Since then we never stopped making music together…

One of the best gigs we played was at Carcassone in September 2015 for Andrew Weatherall’s Convenanza festival. It was so much fun – yes it was! and so much pressure before coming on stage…So much joy on stage. One of the best gigs we have been to was: we did a few together .. one of the best was Beak at La maroquinerie in Paris a few years ago. We loved well.. everything.

Now we live in Paris with our respective girlfriends and kids. We meet every or two days ...

We sometimes argue when Benoit wants to do solo guitars like in the first album of Yes .., but then we both agreed that it is better sometimes to say no than Yes.

We enjoy the silence and the bass a lot. We can spend hours making music without saying a single word. One of our favorite places to visit is the aquarium tropical du Palais de la Porte Dorée in Paris, because we love fish.

On weekdays we work as sound engineers (Benoit for RFI and Jc for Unesco) and on weekends we usually have some good wines and take care of our kids.

Our favorite songs at the moment are Dollkraut “Bonnie Said” and Kelley Stoltz “Cut me baby”. Some films we watched lately and liked was The Big Short was very instructive. The last series we watched and loved was Fargo (both seasons) and The Preacher. We are very inspired by Sci-Fi books and our mothers. Our dream is to be able to make a living with music only. Our worst nightmare to lose all our fingers. We love things and hate others.

We are addicted to music, obviously, we just cannot stop making some (music). We get totally fucked up, when we drink vodka (we are more Rhum guys).

Local Suicide reminds us of the name of an eighties local new wave / garage band.

Tomorrow we will be on rehearsal for our next gig. Next month we’ll be on holidays. Next year will be another another one. In 10 years we hope to be able to buy a Moog Voyager Gold edition.

If we weren’t boys, we would be girls. If we were a car, we would be a Mini Cooper (vintage)…We are quite small. If we were an animal, we would be a Canis Lupus Dingo. If we were a drug, we would be a speedball. If we were an invention, we would be Ron Hubbard’s electrometer. If we were an object, we would be just an object in my eyes. If we could date ourselves, we we would cheat on ourselves.
If we could play with anyone it would be: depend on the game! We would like to collaborate with Elvis Presley.

If we had only one wish, it would be to have hundreds of others.

We would never say never, because we never know.

Our word of advice to the reader would be to avoid others’ advice.
