Friday the 31st of January marks the end of a first month of unkept New-Years resolution. To put the final touch to this grandiose achievement, come and celebrate in style at Urban Spree for the release party of aMinus.

Frenchman Valentin Plessy, non content of being a founding member of dance clash trio Plateau Repas and dark pop band Kool Thing, has also been releasing catchy electro-pop under his aMinus moniker since 2006. After his first album Almost and maybe (Zingy Records), aMinus raises the bar of dance-pop tuneage with his second album Options (Mad Dog and Love), 11 addictive tracks dealing with the themes of gender and love, chaotic everyday survival, expectations, uncertainties and troubled relationships.

If there is one thing you’ll be laying your eyes on today, it should definitely be the video for the 8-bit sounding slap-heavy lead single Don’t mind me now. Beautifully shot, the video explores the fantasy revenge that follows-up on a chaotic relationship and features long-time collaborator and Plateau repas band buddy Magritte Jaco, who incidentally also provides the particularly stunning harmonies for the track.

So on Friday, come warm yourselves up at Urban Spree with a live performance from aMinus, preceded and followed by DJ sets from Yam Bataller (Sado Maso Disco), Julie Chance (My Haus) and Roi Perez (Pag).

For more information head over to the event page and for the animation lovers out there, do also check out the video for aMinus’ previous single Quarter to nine which is a colossal piece of work inspired by 90’s Atari classic Another World.
