Academy Award-winning director Roger Ross Williams will be flying in to Berlin for an exclusive screening of his latest film, ‘GOD LOVES UGANDA’. A controversial and damning exposé which reveals how American Evangelical missionaries are preaching the ‘word of God’ to an impressionable Ugandan population, emphasizing the evils of homosexuality and contraception. The direct effects of this include a shocking, aggressive and, in some cases, murderous homophobia and a tragic increase in HIV due to the stigma that the Church attaches to contraception. This is a must-see documentary which will be followed by a director Q&A.

Roger Ross Williams directed and produced Music by Prudence, winner of the 2010 Academy Award for documentary short subject. He is the first African American to win an Oscar for directing and producing a film. He has produced and directed dozens of hours of non-fiction programming for major television networks and cable channels. Williams has won numerous awards for his work. Currently Williams has several projects in development, including a feature narrative film about the African American Baptist church titled Black Sheep.
