Aside from being a versatile and successful musician, Matt Sims is an accomplished artist who finds solace in exploring the boundaries of musicality. He exploded onto the American alternative rock scene in the early 90’s as the leader of Citizen King who scored the mainstream hit Better Days before going electronic and releasing Ultra Sex on Gigolo in 2002.
Widely considered a pioneer of the Dark Wave movement, he contributed to Madonna’s 2003 album American Life with a remix of Nobody knows me before releasing three albums on Hungry Eye records and collaborating with Planningtorock and The Knife on the Electro opera Tomorrow in a year and Leila (Warp records) on the 2012 U&I album.
Matt Sims is now back with an exclusive podcast for Wrangelkiez in which he develops an eclectic selection of ambient, organic and progressive electronic sounds, gracefully navigating the shifting border between pop and abstract.
