In its 9th year, Preview Berlin is one of the major participants in this year’s Berlin Art Week. The event will be representing more international artists than ever before. One of Europe’s biggest art fairs, Preview will occupy The Berlin Opera Workshops, transforming the undiscovered space into a creative venue for artists hailing from 18 different nations, representing five different continents. International exhibits will include celebrated works of graduates from six different universities. The Focus Academy will include institutions such as the Academy of Fine Arts and Design of the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, and The Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden.
On Thursday 19th, the fair opens to the public from 6pm until 10pm, the free entrance lounge on the ground floor will remain open till 12 with music by Salysol and Franz Underwear (Slow Motion). In addition there will be an “Artist of the Month” video screening in cooperation with Ikono. TV, a Preview Illumination that will focus on the facade of the Berlin Opera Workshops, as well as a seminar for young collectors in cooperation with Freie Universität.
Of course, every event in Berlin would not be complete without a party. Preview will kick off this year’s celebrations at Prince Charles from 10pm with Dat Politics live, live PAs by Namosh and Anything Maria (Paris/Your Mom’s), DJ sets by Hanin Elias (Your Mom’s), rRoxymore, Patric Catani and Aérea Negrot (BPitch Control).
