Another day, another ‘Soundtrack To Your Night In‘ and this time tracks have been selected by Australian DJ and producer Ok Sure. Hailing from Melbourne and drawing comparisons to the likes of Crystal Castles and Grimes, she’s building quite a reputation for her downtempo and dark electronica. Not by any means a new kid on the block, Ok Sure has been dabbling in electronic music since the tender age of 13, which sparked a career as Kaysh and led to winning Pioneer Pro DJ Search in 2006. Nowadays she’s making a name for herself with her live performance, delivering atmospheric sets, alive with the sound of deep house and techno.
Fresh from the release of her ‘Anamnesis’ EP, Ok Sure has made a sweet selection of tracks to soundtrack your night in. Speaking about her selection she admitted “I chose 5 songs I would happily listen to on repeat, for an entire night or forever and that I hope my friends would also be happy to listen to, and if they weren’t then I guess we can’t be friends anymore. Poem Of Dead Song has always made me cry a little inside. I’m so sad we will never hear new music from Trish Keenan. I could have chosen anything off the Jon Hopkins “Immunity” album, it’s all amazing, same with Blackpool Late Eighties, I love the whole James Holden album “The Inheritors”. I don’t listen to a lot of non electronic music, in fact Dirge and Anenome are probably the only two songs I enjoy listening to extensively that involve guitars. I’d be happy to have any of these songs played at my funeral, just so you know, this is now in writing.”
