Rocket Juice and the Moon is a brilliant fresh project. Its line up comprises of Blur/Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn (guitar, vocals), Flea (bass) of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tony Allen (drums, percussion), the afro beat drummer and musical producer for Fela Kuti.
The last has said about the upcoming self-titled album, which is expected on the 27th of March on Albarn’s Honest Jon’s imprint: “It is all funk. Groove music, music that makes you dance. The audience don’t want to sit and listen, they want to move their bodies.” The 18-track album was recorded in Albarn’s Studio 13 in London, with some extra parts taken in Paris, Berlin and Chicago too. There is a guest appearance by Erykah Badu on the track presented, with her sensual and funky vocals that fill our ears, matching perfectly with the rhythm!
