Bad Thing is the latest offering from the lovely lasses and masters of catchy-hook writing, PINS. It’s a dreamy, five-track self-release that has everything we’ve come to expect from them and more. From the rebellious chants of too-cool-for-school delinquents in opener and title track ‘Bad Thing’, to the poetic slurs of none other than Iggy Pop in ‘Aggrophobe’, his voice still saturated with that delicious and crackly warmth that perfectly contrasts with the angelic hues of front-woman, Faith Vernon. For those of you that err on the dark side, skip to ‘In Nightmares’ for a whisper of electronica that continues to run deep into ‘Dead Souls’, a track that’s begging to be remixed by somebody out there.
As yet another great band to be lovingly pushed out of the musically-fertile womb that is Manchester, PINS have steadily been building a reputation and loyal fanbase, releasing a string of LPs and EPs and touring relentlessly. Earlier this week they released the video for the instantly anthemic, nod to fellow-females, ‘All Hail’.
When playing live they never fail to deliver fun, frolics and the odd bit of audience participation and are about to embark on a massive tour of Europe in a matter of days. Visit their facebook / instagram for a full list of dates.
