New Video: Danny Brown – Grown Up

After loads of mix-tapes, high-profile collaborations (think G-Unit, Roc-A-Fella) and years on the underground scene, it was eccentric Detroit rapper Danny Brown‘s 2010 self-released album “The Hybrid” that found him a home at Fool’s Gold Records. It was the New York label with whom he achieved critical and commercial recognition following his 2011 release “The XXX“, named 19th best album of the year by Pitchfork. This latest video features Danny as a young troublemaker, tooth-gap and all, and conveys a gritty nostalgia that everyone can appreciate. Ah, childhood. This song reeks of summer.
