Neukölln, an area in Berlin that embodies many different walks of life, a society built on multicultural being. It is home to people migrated from the world over, which as of 2009, includes Australian born producer Rick Bull AKA Deepchild.
‘Neukölln Burning’ is a 14 track album which tells a tale of Deepchild’s Berlin winter experience. An album not only thematically important but with dub-inflected sounds evolved with the iconic club culture of his newly adopted hometown.
There’s much that can be said for this genre-mashing producer. From a background of primarily UK bass house, Deepchild has remained consistent in pushing the boundaries of electronic music. With a string of releases on labels such as Future Classic, Trapez, Thoughtless, Oppossum, regular sets at some of the most prestigious clubs including Panorama Bar, Tresor and Watergate, and support from Industry heads Stacey Pullen and Adam Beyer, Deepchild has quickly taken the music world by storm.
