New video: Friendly Rich – Sausage Samba

When does too much sausage become TOO MUCH SAUSAGE? And who ever even said that there was such a thing as too much sausage anyway? Certainly not Canadian artist Friendly Rich.

Taken from his 10th album Bountiful, lead single Sausage Samba unfolds like a surreal theatrical ode to sausages of all kinds and the the technically outstanding video follows suit. Bringing us back to the days of former internet nonsensical randomness, video maker Nick denBoer mashes up Star Trek, plenty of wurst, mariachi bands and enough wonky eyes to make Thom Yorke feel like a normal person, and the result is beyond bizarre. Never had encased ground meat made anything feel so dramatically ridiculous.

Friendly Rich and his band The Lollipop people are heading to Europe for a tour in June and July, swinging by Fusion Festival for a couple of gigs and Berliners will be able to catch the band in Berlin on July 3rd at Duncker.
