M83 just announced the release of their next single ‘Steve McQueen‘ which will be out via Mute November 27. Celebrating this exhilarating track the band decided to draw from their biggest inspiration and support system-the fans themselves. Anthony Gonzalez selected French Director Balthazar Auxietre and Animator Sylvain Derosne’s (who has also collaborated with Spike Jonze) unique vision of a world honoring the “power of childhood, an eagerness for life, and the kind of paradoxical energy you have when you grow up.”
Auxietre describes M83’s overall body of work as “…a sound of his own, made with a kind of “epic fragility”, something very visual, very atmospheric, which can bring powerful images and energy as a filmmaker.”
