New Video: Primal Scream – 2013

Primal Scream‘s new album “More Light” will come out in May. With their first track “2013“, they want to set off the new era. And of course there is also a video to go with it. Quite weird video directed by Spanish artist Rei Nadal.

In the video you can see random images of  dead but yet alive (?!) and beautiful young people, bondage, butterflies, a woman running in the forest, masked people  making out and a woman’s corpse floating in a river. Surreal and dark. It reminds me of some of my favorite videos from the 90’s, such as Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue’s “Where the Wild Roses Grow”, Tom Petty’s “Mary Jane’s Last

Dance”, Death in Vegas’ “Aisha”, Blur’s “Girls and Boys” and a few others. The track is totally Primal Scream, quite 90’s too, it features My Bloody Valentine‘s Kevin Shields on guitar and Bobby Gillespie‘s very playful and sexy vocals. So as big Primal Scream’s fans, we cannot help but love it. Watch the video below!
