After releasing two amazing EP’s on Bristol based Dubstep and Electronica label Black Acre London-raised Romare is finally putting out his debut album ‘Projections’ via Ninja Tune on friday!
The video for his new track ‘Motherless Child‘ was directed by Romare himself & shows references to the name-giving cut’n’paste artist Romare Bearden (but also John Lennon).
There are two tributes running through the song. One is to John Lennon and the other is to the spiritual ‘Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child’. The two are related as John Lennon’s mother was killed when he was young, so I thought I would juxtapose moving images to explore this relationship
We are amazed by his exciting DJ Shadow(ish) mix of african old school vocal and instrument samples, check out the video, the album trailer and three more streams of tracks from the new album ‘Projections’ below.
