Review: Greenville Festival 2013 – Day 1

The calendar showed Friday 26th of July and the 1st day of Greenville Festival was about to getstarted! The festival is located at Paaren in Glien, which is very near to the German capital so it was easy to get there. We took the train from the main station with direction to Brieselang and from  there,  shuttle buses to the festival area.

When we got there, Thees Uhlmann was on the main stage. We heard him from distance, while we were setting up our tents.

After we got ready, we headed to Radio Eins Bühne, where Fall Out Boy were playing.

I have to admit that I was not very familiar with their songs, but I surprised myself that I knew their main hits.

The American rock band had plenty of energy and they communicated a lot with the audience,

encouraging people to dance and do dance circles!

They performed for a full hour, without a single stop in between.

Fall Out Boy also introduced to the audience Toby The Penis!!

Bloodhound Gang took over the Visions Stage at 22:00 and it was time for

“…You and me baby ain’t nothin’ but mammals!

So let’s do it like they do on the Discovery Channel”

Gettin’ horny now…”

The American band performed all their hit singles

from the epic “Fire Water Burn“,

The Bad Touch“, “Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo” to

Along Comes Mary“, “Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss” and “The Ballad of Chasey Lain.

While they was on stage, I had a strong 90’s flashback and I felt like 16 years old again!

At the end of their performance, Jared Hasselhoff took off his pants! He stayed naked with a flag on his penis and holding a German flag in his hands.

Formed in 1991, Bloodhound Gang have sold more than 6 million albums.

While Bloodhound Gang was playing in main stage, the digital hardcore band from Berlin invaded  the Greenville Stage.

Ladies and gentleman… Atari Teenage Riot!!

ATR have an energy that many bands could be jealous. Alec Empire is a strong band leader and ATR have a huge impact on hardcore dance scene.

It was the 3rd time that I saw them playing live. For one more time, they did their best on stage and was a pleasure to see them jumping around, while they were screaming out loud their punk vocals!

Then at the Vision Stage the German electropunk band  Frittenbude took over.

They played an uplifting 1 hour live set and they closed their gig with their hit song “Mindestens in 1000 Jahren“!

After  Frittenbude‘s concert, I headed to my tent, because I had to be fresh for Wu (Tang) the day after!
