Review: Greenville Festival 2013 – Day 2

The second day of Greenville Festival  started for us with the Cologne based artist Gentleman. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon with reggae music, smiling people dancing around, 36 degrees and love in the air!

Next act in the Visions Stage was the English-language Norwegian band from Oslo, Katzenjammer. The band consists from 4 ladies, Anne Marit Bergheim, Marianne Sveen, Solveig Heilo and Turid Jørgensen. Their gig at the Greenville Festival was their one and exclusive German festival show.

A bit later the German rock band, Jupiter Jones, took over the stage of Radio Eins Bühne.

With this and that, it was already 10 p.m. and it was time for the hip hop legends, who have defined their own universe in the hip hop galaxy.

It’s is no other than the WU TANG CLAN!

Wu Tang Clan’s show was also their exclusive German festival show and this tour was to celebrate their 2o years in the hip hop world! Despite the fact that it was almost ago than 10 years that I was Wu fan, I was so happy that I was be able to see them live. I had no expectations to be honest and I didn’t expect them all on stage either.
But some minutes after 22:00, Bobby Digital aka RZA came on stage! After RZA, one by one, GZA, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck , U-God and last but not least Method Man came on stage!

I couldn’t believe that all of the Wu Tang clans were on stage in front of me! The Wu energy was everywhere!!

We were feeling very happy and we were so excited after Wu Tang Clan show, so it was kind of a bless that Bonaparte was the next act on the Radio Eins Bühne.

The Berlin based band, which is characterized by its expressive critically acclaimed live performances, gave us an amazing show again!
Every single time that I watch them perform live it is a new experience.

You never know what to expect from them when they are on stage.

Last performer for Saturday was Mr. Alex Clare.

The British singer – songwriter ‘s  biggest hit from the album, “Too Close”, peaked at number 4 on the UK Singles Chart and number 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song was nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Single at the 2013 Brit Awards.

Alex Clare was one of my highlights of Greenville Festival and his performance was exceptional. My favorite songs by him are “Relax my Beloved” and “Up all night”.
