Honeyblood’s new single is about someone they will hate forever and who does disgust them, called “Super Rat”. You wouldn’t have imagined though, judging by the title and lyrics that it is a sweet track filled with warm, bubbly sounds that get inside you, as if you’re happy about something. The controversy between the grungy guitars and the revengeful lyrics, and its melodic, poppy atmosphere is something to write home about.
Honeyblood are Shona McVicar (drums) and Stina Marie Claire Tweeddale (guitar/vocals), who label their tight sound as crunchpop. “Super Rat” is included in their self titled debut album, set to be released on July 14th on FatCat Records. One thing’s for sure about the Glasgow duo after their latest releases: they made us love them forever.
