The duo LOKATT, formed by Swedish producers Nina and Johanna Piroth, have been showcasing their music since 2015 – producing from their Oma Gusti studio since 2013. Their repertoire focuses on a techno backbone that extends into motions of tropical pop, transmitting their sound waves far south from their roots in Stockholm.
Their Samoa EP, released 6th June this year on their own label [Oma Gusti Records], has already been reviewed on underground-electronic blog, Tanzgemeinschaft, and received airtime on the international radio station, RTS.FM. This time we’re premiering their new video, filmed in the Japanese Tropics.
Samoa By Night is a fruity take on the classic lo-fi chill out number. Lots of milky textures carry the obscured melody, resulting in a sound that suits both company and isolation – either way, floating away on a virtual boat is inevitable. The video merely continues this paradisiacal image of timeless transit, sticking with no particular journey to form a hazy mirage of electropic bliss.
